Raman Science Centre in collaboration with Aeronautical Society of India has organized an ORANGE CITY SCIENCE FAIR from 19th to 21st December 2019 for the students & teachers. 117 Students from 65 schools are participating in the fair with their Innovative Working science models/kits. 15 Teachers also are participating with their teaching aids in Teaching Aid Demonstration Contest.
The Orange city Science fair was inaugurated by Air Vice Marshal V.C. Wankhade, Chairman, Aeronautical Society of India, Nagpur Branch and AOES, HQ, Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force, Vayusena Nagar at 11.00 am on 19th December 2019 in presence of Dr. Mrs. Jyotsna Meshram, Head, Dept. of Chemistry, RTM Nagpur University, Group Captain Rajeev Shrivastava, Ho. Secretary, Aeronautical Society of India Meet the Scientist Programme was also organized just after the inauguration in which a panel of Scientists comprising of Dr. Jyotsna Meshram, Dr. Nandakishor Karade of Dept. of Chemistry, RTM Nagpur University Campus and Dr. Hemant Chandak, Associate Prof. G. S. College, Khamgaon. satisfied the student queries about Periodic Table of Chemical Elements.
Rangoli Contest was also organised on the occasion in which students and teachers of the various school participated and drew rangoli on the International Year of Periodic Table. 87 Students have prepared posters on Aviation – Ancient to Modern. The selected posters are exhibited during the science fair. The winners in each contest will be awarded in Valedictory function at 4.30 pm on 21st December 2019. Group Captain Rajeev Shrivastava, Hon. Secretary, Aeronautical Society of India, Nagpur Branch will be the chief guest of the valedictory function.
This Orange City Science Fair will be open for the students & the general public to visit from till 21st December 2019 from 11.00 am to 4.30 pm. Shri. Vijay Shanker Sharma, Project Co-ordinator, Raman Science Centre has urged the Students, Teachers and people of Nagpur to visit the fair in large number. Entry to the fair for school students in group will be free.
