With an aim to take a strategic decision against the illegal mobile towers in the city, a meeting was held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s administrative building today under the leadership of Mayor Sandeep Joshi.
A trend in erecting the mobile towers has appeared in the city for the last one and a half years, which has even included some of the illegal towers of mobile companies.
Previously, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) had given a specific date to the representatives of these towers to take action against them. However, since no serious action was taken by the municipal corporation, senior corporate Sanjay Bangale has put forth to charge these tower representatives under section 53 and section 54.
It was informed to the tower representatives to pay their taxes from time to time, in the meeting and also a specific period is given to the illegal towers after which NMC will be taking strict action against them.
The owners who have to lend their property to these towers will be penalized under section 53 and 54.
