Problems faced by Thalassemia and Sickle Cell patients will be solved soon

Director of Thalassemia and Sickle Cell centre Nagpur Dr. Vinky Rughwani met with Principal Secretary Medical Education Department Government of Maharashtra Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee and Director Medical Education Department Dr. T.P. Lahane.

Dr Rughwani discussed the problems faced by Thalassemia and Sickle Cell patients with them and also submitted a memorandum including issues related with Sickle cell and Thalassemia patients. He demanded that even after implementation of disability bill 2017 many Sickle Cell patients are not getting disability benefit.

He also urged that while issuing the disability certificate in different districts equality should be maintained as far as percentage of disabilities concerned. He also apprised about the transfusion and requirement of medicines for Thalassemia and Sickle Cell patients to the authorities.

He requested the Secretary and the Director to expedite the process of establishing centre of excellence for Thalassemia and Sickle Cell patients in Government Medical College which was announced by Former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

After hearing Dr. Vinky Rughwani, Dr.Sanjay Mukherjee and Dr. T.P. Lahane said the problems faced by Thalassemia and Sickle Cell will be solved soon.
