The Maharashtra State Examination Council has postponed the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (MAHA TET), which was scheduled to be held on June 28, 2026, across 1,028 examination centres in the state, following the detection of a question paper leak.
According to the Council, elaborate security measures had been put in place in view of the irregularities reported during the NEET 2026 examination. However, in the early hours of June 27, acting on confidential information, authorities received inputs that certain individuals in Bhiwandi were in possession of material related to the MAHA TET question paper.
Following the tip-off, Bhiwandi Police conducted a raid at the suspected location. During the search, investigators recovered an illegal copy of the question paper containing several questions that matched those intended for the examination.
Police have registered a case against the individuals involved, and an investigation is currently underway.
In light of the incident and to maintain the integrity and fairness of the examination process, the Maharashtra State Examination Council has decided to postpone the June 28 MAHA TET examination. The Council has also ordered a detailed probe into the matter.
