‘Anokha Bazaar’, a unique social initiative launched under the Sobat Palakatva Foundation, aims to build a chain of humanity by connecting unused yet well-maintained household items with those in need. Describing it as a meaningful public welfare initiative, renowned homeopath and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Vilas Dangre lauded the concept.
The logo of ‘Anokha Bazaar’ was unveiled and its new office at Panchayatan Apartment, RPTS Road, Nagpur, was inaugurated in a grand ceremony on Saturday. Social activist Devyani Sandeep Joshi and Pranav Ghugre, Convenor of Anokha Bazaar, were also present on the occasion.
The concept of ‘Anokha Bazaar’ was conceived by Sandeep Joshi, former MLA and President of Shri Siddhivinayak Trust and Sobat Palakatva Foundation. Appreciating Joshi’s social initiatives, Dr. Dangre expressed confidence that this project would achieve great success.
Speaking on the occasion, Devyani Joshi explained the objectives of the initiative in detail. She said the project was started with the belief that surplus household items lying unused can significantly improve the lives of underprivileged people. She expressed hope that the initiative would eventually grow into a mass social movement. She appealed to citizens to donate bicycles, study tables, books, computers, cupboards, utensils, clothes, watches, and other usable household items.
‘Anokha Bazaar’ will be organised on the last Sunday of every month from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. After paying a registration fee of ₹100, beneficiaries will be able to take any two different items free of cost from the market.
Citizens willing to donate usable items are requested to deposit them every Sunday between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm at the Anokha Bazaar office located at Panchayatan Apartment, RPTS Road, Nagpur.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Anand Tol.
The programme was attended by Sandeep Mankar, Prakash Rathkanthivar, Manjusha Joshi, Parag Joshi, and members of the Sobat Palakatva Foundation.
