“We are here to serve you and not to administer you†said Hon’ble Principal Commissioner CGSTX P K Agrawal while speaking as Chief Guest at a Half day seminar on Sabka Vishwas (Legacy Dispute Resolution) Scheme’ 2019 and discussion on new GST forms applicable from April 1, 2020. The seminar was organized by Nagpur Branch of WIRC of ICAI.
Chartered Accountants act as Bridge between the Department and Tax payers, remarked Agrawal, Hon’ Principal Commissioner, who is an MBA as well as LLB, reiterated that the suggestions from Chartered Accountants and other consultants has gone a long way in implementing today’s GST Law. Chartered Accountants are the founder pillars of GST in our country. The law of GST has given the required impetus to Department and has created lots of opportunities. Agrawal praised the Chartered Accountants for standing shoulder to shoulder with Government of India for implementing the law of GST and making it successful. He pointed out that Institute of Chartered Accountants of India was the first institute to issue GST Background Material and Guidance Note on GST. It is one of the disciplined professions which have maintained ethics in all compliances.“Knowledge and Service†are the two important terms for ensuring success of any implementation. Real Source of Knowledge comes from what we do and what we think in our daily life, said Hon’ble Principal Commissioner. Every interaction with situation or a person is a source of knowledge. Start learning from your daily life and your own experiences and you would gain the real knowledge. P K Agrawal also updated that Nagpur Zone is 2nd in India in terms of collection under the Sabka Vishwas Dispute Resolution Scheme. The new GST return forms effective from April 1, is the culmination of lots of suggestions obtained from all sections of taxpayers along with consultants throughout the country. P K Agrawal urged the GST registered entities to start filling these forms now available online and address issues if any faced while filing so that the same may be addressed /corrected before the actual implementation date i.e. April 1, 2020.Chartered Accountants are the backbone behind successful implementation of the law of GST, said CA Suren Duragkar, Chairman, Nagpur Branch of WIRC of ICAI. He lavished praise on the dynamism and proactive approach of GST Department guided by enthusiastic Principal Commissioner Agrawal and his energetic team working day and night for effective implementation of GST laws as well as resolving and assisting tax payers to reap maximum benefit from Sabka Vishwas Scheme scheduled to end on December 31, 2019. He thanked Hon’ble Principal Commissioner P. K Agrawal and Joint Commissioner Mukul Patil for sparing time for addressing the members. He appreciated the efforts taken by Department is maintaining an atmosphere of confidence and support to ensure maximum governance with minimum interference.
The provisions and difficulties in Sabka Vishwas (Legacy Dispute Resolution) Scheme’ 2019 ending on December 31, 2019 was explained lucidly by knowledgeable speaker Joint Commissioner GSTCX Mukul Patil. Department is proactive in resolving the queries of taxpayers. He appealed to all taxpayers to avail maximum benefit of this scheme.
Suresh Rayalu, Superintendent, GSTCX elaborated about New GST Return forms – GST Sahaj, GST Sugam and GST R-1 Forms which will be launched from April 1, 2020. He explained that returns will be quarterly with monthly payment requirements for tax assesses having turnover up to Rs. 5 Crores. There would be much relief for filing for Composition dealers and small dealers.
