The star shuttlers of the city, Ritika Thaker and Rohin Gurbani stormed in to the Finals of the ongoing 44th Junior National Championships at progress at the city badminton courts in Rajahmundry.
 In the girls doubles semi finals player between Ritika Thaker and Simran Singhi and Abhilasha A and Gurzada S , ritika Simran won a first tough game 23/21, in the second game Ritika and Simran got their acts together and played attacking game to easily wrap up the second game with the score reading 21/10. 6th seed Ritika and Simran now face top seeds Aditi Bhatt and Tanisha Crasto. IT may be mentioned that Ritika and Simran are playing their 4th National Championships finals in the last 5 years. Ritika a student of Hislop college and trains under Robin Simon and Ajay Dayal. Simran trains at Thane academy under coach Srikant Vad.
 In the boys singles semi finals Rohan Gurnbani representing Air India beat BidyaSagar Salam 21/11 and 21/9 to reach the finals. Rohan practices at Prakash Padukone academy at Bangalore.
