It has been reported that after the winter vacations the High Court will re-open from today with strength of 15 judges. As per information, there will be four division benches and seven single judge benches. And Justice Ravi Deshpande will continue as Senior Administrative Judge.
As per source, after a long assignment at Mumbai bench, Justice Pradeep Deshmukh is back. Justice Rohit Deo has been assigned work at Aurangabad bench while Justice R V Ghuge and Justice Avinash Gharote from Aurangabad bench will be part of Nagpur bench during current roster.
The Constitutional bench will consist of Senior Judge Justice Ravi K Deshpande and Justice Atul Chandurkar and has been assigned all public interest litigations, all civil writ petitions of the years 2019 and 2020, all letters patent appeals and all other division bench civil cases not assigned to any other court.The division bench consisting of Justice Sunil B Shukre and Justice Milind N Jadhav will handle all criminal writ petitions; and civil writ petitions of even years up to the year 2018. Remaining all division bench criminal work has been entrusted to the division bench consisting of Justice P N Deshmukh and Justice Pushpa Ganediwala.All civil writ petitions of the odd years up to the year 2017, all division bench first appeals and Family Court Appeals have been entrusted to the division bench comprising Justice Z A Haq and Justice S M Modak. Justice R V Ghuge, who is coming from Aurangabad bench, has been assigned to hear all the civil writ petitions of the year 2019 and of even years except the year 2018, all civil work not assigned to any other Single Judge Bench and all cases under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. Justice Vinay M Deshpande has been assigned to hear all bail and anticipatory bail applications, all criminal appeals of all categories from the year 2010 and onwards, except criminal appeals assigned to any other Single Bench, all criminal applications under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code and criminal writ petitions from the year 2016 and onwards and all single bench criminal work not assigned to any other court. Justice Swapna Joshi will take up all criminal appeals of all categories up to the year 2009, except criminal appeals assigned to any other court, all criminal applications under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code prior to the year 2016, and all the criminal writ petitions prior to the year 2016. All criminal applications under Section 407 of Criminal Procedure Code and all criminal revision applications.
Justice Vinay Joshi will take up all criminal appeals under the Prevention of Corruption Act, all criminal appeals under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act and all Appeals against Orders while Justice Avinash Gharote will hear all the first appeals from the year 2015 and onwards and all second appeals of odd years except of the year 2019.
Justice Manish Pitale will deal with all civil writ petitions of the odd years and of the year 2018 except of the year 2019, all civil revision applications and all banking and company law cases. Justice M G Giratkar will hear all first appeals up to the year 2014, all second appeals of even years and of the year 2019, all miscellaneous civil applications and all civil contempt reference cases from District Judiciary.
