Nagpur: The football tournament in Season 3 of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav being promoted as Chak de Khelo Nagpur Khelo will be played at the South East Central Railway stadium in Motibagh from January 13 to 18, 2020.
The Khasdar Krida Mahotsav is a brain child of Nitin Gadkari and is country’s first multi-sport grass root festival which provides a competition format for the players of Nagpur.
In the 13-day sporting extravaganza in 32 various sports disciplines will be conducted across 39 different venues of the city from January 12 to 24.
The football matches will be conducted by the Nagpur District Football Association (NDFA) from January 13. The six-day football tournament will be played in the knock-out format and 10 teams from Elite division of the NDFA will be part of the third edition in the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav . The 10 participating teams will vie for the top honours in the Rs 2,64,000 prize money six-day football tournament.
The four participating teams which will get a first round walkover in football include Young Muslim Football Club, Rahul Sankrutyayan Sporting Club, South East Central Railway and Rabbani Club Kamptee.
The champion team will be given a cash prize of Rs 1 Lakh while the runner-up team wins Rs 75,000. A hardline final match will also be played and the third place winning team will be richer by Rs 51,000. All the three podium finishers will also be given attractive trophies too and the players of the top three teams will be given respective medals. In addition many cash prizes will also be given to the individual performers including player of the tournament (Rs 11,000 cash), Best Goalkeeper (Rs 5000), best player from the losing finalists team (Rs 2500), best defender of the tournament (Rs 2500), best forward in the tournament (Rs 2500) and best midfielder of the tournament (Rs 2500). In addition a best player in every match will also be rewarded.
In addition a six-team women football tournament will also be played.
The participating teams in women include Nagpur Gymkhana, Amma FC, Nagsen, AVS, DDYS and St Claret.
The champion team will win a cash prize of Rs 21000. The runner up team will get Rs 11,000 and the team finishing third will be given Rs 7000 in cash.
