Wrestler Babita Phogat, Actor Sunny Deol, State sports minister Sunil Kedar to attend
The stage is all set for the grand opening ceremony of Season 3 of the 13-day, 31-game Khasdar Krida Mahotsav. The two-hour inaugural function will begin at Yeshwant Stadium on Sunday from 5.30 pm. Indian female wrestler, Arjuna Awardee and Commonwealth gold medallist Babita Kumari Phogat will inaugurate the event today.
On the occasion Babita’s husband and Indian wrestler Vivek Suhag and actor turned politician Sunny Deol, actor Sharad Kelkar will share the dais along with Shri Nitinji Gadkari Minister of Road Transport and Highways, and Shipping Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India. Maharashtra State sports minister Shri Sunil Kedar and Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis too will share the dais as a special guest.
Convener of the event and Mayor Shri Sandip Joshi will preside over the inaugural function.
On the occasion, Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha Dr Vikas Mahatme, MLAs Krishna Khopde, Mohan Mate, Vikas Kumbhare, Vikas Thakre, MLC Girish Vyas, Anil Sole, Parinay Fuke, Ramdas Ambatkar and former MLAs Sudhar Kohle, Sudhakar Deshmukh, DR Milind Mane, city BJP president Pravin Datke and other dignitaries will also remain present.
The event begins with a Grand Laser Show. A short and sweet inaugural ceremony has been planned where the participating players will be presenting in various activities including a demonstration on Yoga, Mallakhamb and a Gymnastics Fire Ring show. Players will also perform march past and a Rajasthani dance show will be presented by students of VT Convent. During the march past, a band will be presented by the students of Bhosala Military School and BRA Mundle School.
Around 426 trophies will be distributed in the third edition of Nation’s first multisport event. Over 7237 matches in both the individual and team sports will be played. All these trophies will be distributed to the players along with respective cash prizes (of Rs 78 lakh) and 4350 medals.
