The private bus operators of the city have not given any positive response to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s decision to shift the private bus operations outside the city.
NMC’s idea behind shifting private buses outside city limits is to curb the city traffic. The huge buses are parked by road side for hours together disturbing the smooth flow of traffic.
During a discussion with special committee of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), the owners offered some options so as to achieve decongestion of major thoroughfares of city.
The operator’s association members told the committee that no buses would be parked by road side. They also ensure that operation of buses would not lead to traffic jams at any of the stoppage point or boarding points. Also, the Association said they are ready to pay the parking charges as fixed by NMC so that buses can be parked per hourly basis and ensure income for civic body.
The Committee said the matter would be further discussed with Deputy Commissioner of Police and Traffic Control Branch.
