MLA Govindrao Wanjari Memorial Inter-Collegiate Cross Country was organised by Santaji Mahavidyalaya recently evoked good response.
The 5 Km women’s cross country was flagged off by Principal of Santaji Mahavidyalaya Dr Priya Wanjari.
In this category total 55 athletes took part. First position was secured by Tejasvini Lamkane of J M Patel College, Bhandara where as Pranali Borekar of Shri Chakrapani Mahavidyalaya finished runners-up. Riya Dhotre of Shri Chakrapani Mahavidyalaya finished third.
Shweta Wasule of Shri Binzani City College, Nagpur and Fifth position by Shraddha Baitule of PGTD of Physical Education, RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur finished fourth and fifth respectively.10 Km men’s cross country was flagged off by Dinesh Wanjari, President, Santaji Shikshan Vikas Sanstha.
132 athletes participated in this category. Vikesh Shende of J M Patel College, Bhandara emerged winner where as Rohit Jha of Shri Chakrapani Mahavidyalaya followed him for second spot Shrikrishna Meshram of Hazrat Baba Tajuddin College, S. S. Maniar and Suraj Barekar of Principal Arunrao Kalode College achieved third and fourth places respectively.
The Cross Country was organised successfully with the help of Dr Dilip Tabhane, Dr Rahul Rode, Dr Meena Balpande, Ravindra Tong, Dr Bantiprasad Yadav, Prof. Anil Bhore, Dr Rajesh Alone, Dr Yadnya Singh and Dr Saurabh Mohod.
Dr Sanjay Khalatkar, Head of the Department of Physical Education, Santaji Mahavidyalaya was the coordinator of the event.
