For the second year in a row, Dhanwate National College (DNC) lifted ‘Cric Mania’ Inter-College Cricket Tournament that was organised by VNIT on Saturday. In the final DNC defeated Hislop College by eight wickets. DNC won the toss and elected to field first.
Hislop College scored 93 all out in 12.1 overs. Kartik Pawar top-scored with 33 whereas Divya scored 15. For DNC, Tanmay Kale claimed four wickets for 13 runs whereas Pawel Somkumar got three for 19.
In reply, DNC achieved the target losing just two wickets in 15 overs. Thanks to Vipul Rathod who slammed 57 in 36 balls. Rakesh Bhind (36) also batted well. VNIT director Dr PM Padole, and student’s welfare dean Dr BS Umre distributed the prizes to the winners and runnersup teams.
Dr Prashant Nagrale, Dr Robin Simon, Dr Singh, Dr Devendra Wankhede, Prof. Jayant Jichkar and others were present. DNC principal Dr SR Jichkar has congratulated the team members.
