The job frauds are on the rise in the city and recently a postgraduate youth was duped of Rs.14000 by a fraudster offering a fake job in a pharma company.
As per information, Husban Khan (23) uploaded his CV in a job website. After few days; Khan received a call from a person who offered him a job in a pharmaceutical company. The person said that he has to face online interviews and other procedures. And the caller asked Khan to send Rs.2000 to his account as registration charges. Khan deposited the in the given account after which the caller arranged an online interview. And later Khan was informed that he has been selected for the job.
The process didn’t end here as the caller asked Khan to deposit Rs.7000 for completing other formalities. Khan felt something fishy and he enquired the person to return the money back. But in turn, the person demanded Rs.5000 more money saying after that the entire amount deposited by him will be refunded.
Khan believed the caller’s word and deposited the money. When a few days later Khan tried to contact the person his number was out of reach. Sensing the alarming situation, Khan filed a complaint in the cyber complaint cell (C3) of city police.
The complaint is transferred to Manakapur police station and a fraud case has been registered there. Further probe into the matter is underway.
