Kolhapur’s Pankaj Ravalu and Mayura Shivalkar triumphed in TigerMan Triathlon organised by Pro Health Foundation in the city on Sunday.
The overall men’s winner of Tigerman distance is Pankaj Ravalu from Kolhapur. He did 3 km swim – 120 km cycling and 25 km run in 6. 36 hours. In the women’s section, Mayura Shivalkar also from Kolhapur did 3 km swim – 120 km cycling and 25 km run in 9. 24hours.
Abhay Durugkar from Nagpur achieved third position in 46 to 55 years, category in 9.53 minutes and Ravindra Tarare finished second in above 55 years age category with time of 9. 36 hours.Dr Ninad Kale, Ashwin Mokashi and Mrunal Wanjari from Miles N Milers Club Nagpur also completed TigerMan distance successfully.
Age group awards were also given from 18 to 35, 36 to 45, 46 to 55 and above 55 years. All the successful finishers were given the Title of TigerMan.
Olympic distance triathlon was also organized in the race. Olympic distance triathlon consists of 1500 meters swim – 40 km cycling and 10 km run. Major numbers of participants were from Hubli, Nagpur, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolhapur in this distance. The overall men’s winner in the distance was Manthan Patel from Ahmedabad with time of 3.3 hours. The overall women’s winner was Ketaki Sathe from Mumbai with time of 3.11 hours. Team Hemant Kalikar and Team Ananthakrishnan Rajagopal secured first and second positions in Team Olympic Triathlon.
In sprint distance triathlon Sanjana Joshi and Snehal Joshi came first and second in women’s race. Daksh Khante emerged winners whereas Srijith Nair finished second place in men’s race.
Mangala Patil, Seema Kawanpure, Pravin Patil, Vaibhav Andhare and Baljeet Juneja all from Nagpur and train with Miles N Milers Endurance sports academy excelled in Tiger Duathlon.
Team Kavita Mundle, Team Rashmi Kulkarni and Team Amit Jajoo finished first to third respectively in Team Duathlon Race.
Dr Amit Samarth was the race director of Tigermann Triathlon whereas race director for Tiger Duathlon was Sachin Shirbavikar.
The race was flagged off by DCP Traffic Chinmay Pandit and Dr Shantanu Sengupta. MP Dr Vikas Mahatme, Major General Kundra, and Dr Sanjay Jaiswal distribued the prizes.
