Dr Ram Nibudey, Joint Director, Technical Education, Regional Office, Nagpur will be the guest of honour, informed DS Kulkarni, Principal, Government Polytechnic in a press conference informed that the 22nd  Convocation Ceremony of Government Polytechnic, Nagpur will take place on February 13  in the institute premises in Sadar.As per information, total 711 students will be conferred diplomas during the programme. Arvind Kumar, Centre Head, TCS, Mihan, Nagpur will be the chief guest of the ceremony. Dr D V Jadhav, Joint Director, Technical Education, Regional Office, Amravati and Chairman, Governing Board of the institute will preside over the function.
The gold and silver medals, as well as sponsored awards to the students securing first and second ranks in various Engineering diploma programmes, will be distributed at the hand of chairman and chief guest. Total 28 sponsored awards are instituted by academicians, industry persons and professionals for the meritorious students.
The institute has also started awarding cash prizes to toppers from last Nine years. Pratik Pradeep Wankhede a topper students from all engineering disciplines of the institute securing 95.3 per cent marks will receive highest six sponsored awards and a gold medal during the convocation.
He belongs to Civil Engineering Programme. The 20 other meritorious students who are going to receive awards during the programme are Viditti Amarendra Jaltare of Civil Engineering branch who bagged four silver medals. Mubarika Sabir (Mechanical Engineering), Tegveer Singh Puni (Mechanical Engineering), Nikhil Lekhram Ambule (Electrical Engineering), ShrutikaNandkishorHajare (Electrical Engineering), Yashshree Sudhir Sulbhewar (Electronics and Telecommunication) etc.
