The management of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve suspended a Gypsy and its driver after a video showing his Gypsy blocking a tiger and putting the lives of tourists in danger went viral.
On getting information about this incident, TATR administration immediately took action and banned Gypsy, driver, and guide till further order.
As per the information, a Gypsy had entered the core zone of TATR from Moharli gate along with tourists. During the safari, the Gypsy spotted one full-grown tiger near Hilltop road. The tiger was on the roadside. However, the Gypsy driver showed over-enthusiasm and took his vehicle very close to the animal. Annoyed over Gypsy so close, the tiger stared at the tourists and crossed the road.
Chief conservator of forests and field director of TATR N.R. Praveen said, “We have taken serious cognizance of this incident. The Gypsy, driver, and guide were put under immediate suspension and their entry has been banned till further orders. The guide and Gypsy driver have been called for hearing on Thursday. Further action will be taken afterward.
The administration of TATR has set various rules and regulations for jungle safari to prevent damage to the lives of wildlife or its habitat and in regard to the safety of tourists.
