An initiative to improve the quality of education and to tackle the issues of decreasing enrolment at Zilla Parishad schools, the divisional commissioner had recently implemented a learning evaluation programme all over the district.
A survey conducted by the flying squads of the education department has revealed that the initiative has got a mixed response as some schools were benefited by this move and some didn’t get the good response.
After the survey, district education officer Chintaman Wanjari has issued show cause notices teachers of 30 such schools and demanded an explanation. The point to be noted here is that most of the schools did not followed the programme in proper manner. And not received any desirable results. The students are mostly weak in English and mathematics.
And to monitor the situation two flying squads have been appointed. Each squad has six members which include extension officer and centre-head. They had specifically visited schools in interior areas and schools with less enrolment of students. After the visit they have prepared a report .Based on the report the education officer issued notices to respective teachers.
