A good news for the medical students as the super speciality hospital affiliated to GMCH has got the permission to add three post graduate seats. As per information, among them one seat is for MD in gastroenterology and two seats for cardiology. A point to be noted here is that the seats in both these departments have increased after 2013.
The Medical Council of India (MCI) had taken a decision of increasing the seats for post graduate programmes. According to the new conditions for teacher-student ratio, a professor gets two seats, associate professor gets two seats.
As per the new rule, GMCH then sent proposals for increase in one seat of gastroenterology and two seats of cardiology.
Meanwhile, a team from MCI surveyed the availability of facilities and submitted its report. And gastroenterology received one seat and now the department has two seats. And cardiology department had received two seats of PG.And now the department has total four seats.
