On day three of the Nagpur leg of the Mumbai Indians Junior Cricket Tournament, Vedant Fulzele of The CDS School, Subhash Nagar shone with an all-round performance at the MSCA Ground on Thursday. He scored 95 runs and then took five wickets, thrashing Somalwar High School by 84 runs in the U-14 category.
Fulzele, coming in at number four played brilliantly with the bat first to end just five runs shy of a century but ensured CDS score 166 before getting all-out in 19.3 overs. He later scalped five wickets to derail Somalwar’s chase who were bowled out for 82 runs in 19.3 overs.
In the U-16 Girl’s category, Bhargavi Asole bowled her side to victory as her six-wicket-haul restricted Podar International School to a mere 29 runs in their chase of 176 at the WCL Ground. The South Public School won by a massive margin of 146 runs, thanks to Sharayu Shendre’s brilliant 81 not-out.
