Recently the local Crime Branch of Chandrapur police had seized 24 trucks loaded with coal and yet no FIR has been registered. According to the information, the police suspect the involvement of various industries in sale of subsidised coal in the open market at premium rates.
The Maharashtra State Mining Corporation Ltd (MSMC) too has not provided details regarding the seized coal to the local crime branch, following which the investigation has loosen its grip over the coal scam.
Sources said, the deadlock over filing of the complaint is extending as the MSMC officials are not willing to file any report without their own inquiry case into the alleged coal scam.
Meanwhile, the LCB had summoned representatives of the industries from Nagpur, Bhandara, Jalna and Yawatmal that had lifted the coal from mines.
Around seven companies are under the radar of the LCB and as none of the industries responded, a team each has been sent to four districts to investigate the matter.
During its visit to the companies the teams will check all the records regarding the subsidized coal transportation procedure, and utilization.
