Despite the corporators of the ruling party denied the discussion on not giving the account of the 12-year annual dues to the financial situation in the general assembly, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) commissioner, Tukaram Mundhe has made his intention very clear by presenting the financial account of the last one year in the House.
Mundhe has estimated an expenditure of Rs 2388 crore in the year 2019-20 while earning said to be around 2400 crore. He also mentioned that there is a difference of 20 to 25 percent in the standing committee budget and actual earnings every year.He further stated that NMC owes a total of 496.51 crores. It is clear that this time there will be a huge cut in the budget of the standing committee. About Rs 800 crore are expected to be cut.
Now as after the commissioner submitted it report in the house, the expectations of the ruling party may face hurdles. According to the sources, Mayor Sandeep Joshi has already given instructions regarding the preparation of the budget by the end of February.
