The Maha Metro Nagpur project has started its passenger rail service in the city. The Nagpur Metro Rail Project will need 23 metro trains comprising 69 coaches. Out of these 19 metro trains (57 coaches) have reached the city.
As per information, the various parts of Metro coaches are assembled by CRRC Dalian. They are brought to Chennai port by seaway after assembling and then brought to Nagpur through a trailer. The transportation of these coaches is done only during the night owing to safety reasons. One trailer is carrying one entire metro train. This way three huge trailers are reaching Nagpur from Chennai.
Special features like the security, design, fea tures of Nagpur Metro Rail coaches are based on modern technology. All necessary facilities for young and old have been provided in these coaches. The internal design, emergency doors, LED signboards, automatic announcement facility and natural theme are some of the interesting features of these coaches.
