Vidarbha Industries Association and Clean Air Asia, India are jointly organising a Capacity Building Program on “Clean Air Action – Reducing Emissions from Industries†which will be focused on Emission Standards for Industries and Technology Transfer to Reduce the Emission. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, 18th March 2020 from 10.00 am to 5.30 pm at Hotel Radisson Blu, Wardha Road, Nagpur.
The Ministry of Environment Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has emphasised on national level strategies to reduce air pollution at urban and regional scales and came up with the National Clean Air Program (NCAP)-India recently. The goal of NCAP is to meet the prescribed annual average ambient air quality standards at all locations in the country in a prescribed time frame. It is a focused and time bound initiative with an aim of preparing air quality management plan for 102 non-attainment Indian cities.
The objective of holding this workshop as industries have been identified as a major source of emissions in cities. The city air action plan prepared by the MPCB with support from NEERI specifies that industry action is essential to achieve clean air action in the cities. In view of this, VIA in association with Clean Air Asia, India is taking the initiative to hold a workshop for industries. VIA and Clean Air Asia, India is organizing this workshop to propose ways in which Industries can play a leading role in the implementation of Air Action Plan.
The inaugural Session will be addressed by eminent expert speakers. In Session II: Implementation Strategy of Nagpur Air Action Plan will be discussed with Industry specific Nagpur Air Action Plan and priorities for strategic action. In Session III: Air emissions standards for industries. Session IV: How to strengthen initiatives for Improving Air Quality via Technological Interventions: Smart & Technologies for Better Air Quality in Cities. Session V: Way forward, open house, discussions outcomes will cater to the queries of the industrialist and also consolidate the recommendations coming therein.
