Nagpur District Under – 9 Open and Girls Chess Championship 2020 organised by Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation in association with G H Raisoni Sport and Culture foundation began on Friday at Vivekananda Hall, Shri Mohini Complex, Shraddha House.
The tournament recognized by Nagpur District Chess Association. Noted sports organiser and city NCP President Anil Ahirkar inaugurated the tournament in the presence of NDCA vice-president Shreyans Kamdar, Project Head, Raisoni Group Dr Mrunal Naik, secretary of Kalpana Prakash welfare Foundation Bhushan Shriwas, Kunal Shukul and Chief Arbiter Pravin Pantawane.
Total 101 players are participating in the tournament. On the opening day of championship, 2 rounds were played in open group and two n girls group. Total 8 rounds in open group and 6 rounds in girls group will be played. Open group third round will be played on Saturday at 6 p.m. followed by next rounds.
