Right after the first case of coronavirus was found to be positive in the city, a meeting by the Municipal Commissioner and health department was held on Thursday. In Vibhag Ayukt Karlaya, Tukaram Mundhe, Municipal Commissioner along with Sanjiv Kumar, Divisional Commissioner and other dignitaries had a word with all the media persons to clear the doubts circulating about the virus.
According to the reports, the patient is in a stable condition now and has been put under a continuous series of check-ups. The suspected people who were in direct contact of the patients have also been taken care of. People like his family members, relatives, driver and maid are being checked ups. The two friends he traveled along within the flight and associate passengers who were sitting right beside and behind the patient’s seat 17C have also been put under observation.  
“Travellers who have traveled to the 7 affected countries after February 15 are to be put in the quarantine facility. Airport checks up facility are also available.†Said Kumar. Mundhe further added, to avoid public gatherings, malls, cinema hall and other highly social zones.
In total 59 cases have been put under home quarantine in Vidarbha. The civic body has also shared a 24 hours helpline number 2562668 on which citizens can contact if one feels any slight and unusual health symptoms.
