Vidarbha won maiden CK Nayudu Under-23 cricket title defeating Madhya Pradesh by eight wickets at Holkar Stadium in Indore on Friday.
In the morning leading by 31 runs Madhya Pradesh were bundled out for a paltry 60 in 31.1 overs. In response Vidarbha achieved the target of 91 runs sparing eight wickets in 23.1 overs and romped home the victory. Only Irfan Ali (21) and Rahul Chandrol (12) managed to cross the double digit. Pace duo Nachiket Bhute and Aditya Thakre shared six wickets between them. Left arm spinner Harsh Dubey and Mohti Raut were chipped in with two each. While chasing the small target, skipper Atharva Taide (32, 42 b, 5×4) and Nayan Chavan (53*, 80 b, 7×4) gave flying start to Vidarbha and made 62-run partnership for opening wicket to ensure the big victory.
