The people of Maharashtra on Sunday observed the Janata Curfew which was proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prevent the rapid spread of the deadly coronavirus. Now the state government extended it till 5 a.m. on Monday. On Sunday, March 22 the curfew was scheduled to be from morning 7 till 9 in the evening to which an extra 9 hours have been added.
The extension was declared by Maharashtra Chief Minister, Uddhav Thakre. Along with this, section 144 has also been imposed in the state.
Municipal Commissioner of Nagpur, Tukaram Mundhe has ordered to put a halt to all the transport services, cab services like Ola, Uber and Aapli to restrict the movement of people till further order.
However, emergency services and essential commodity vehicle will be allowed.
