The whole nation has been put under lockdown to discourage people from gathering and spreading the coronavirus. All the borders of state and cities have also been sealed in an order to stop the transmission of the virus.
In this time of severity, television is the only medium through which factual news without rumours can be made available to the citizens. In an attempt to keep Nagpur citizens posted about the daily rather continual and live happenings of India, the Collector Office, Nagpur has issued a letter to local cable operators requesting to avoid cancellation of subscriptions.
According to the letter, the cable operators GTPL, In Cable, UCN and City Cable are requested to not to charge their customers for the coming 3 months. As the businesses are on a halt due to lockdown and TV news are important for information, all the local cable operators should provide free service to their subscribers.
