Amid the difficult times of COVID-19 pandemic, the entire world is trying its maximum to prevent the wide spread of this deadly virus. During this trying time, the service of the doctors and other health workers who are doing service to the people are really praiseworthy and their safety and security are also very important.
As per information, doctors from private hospitals are coming forward to help their colleagues in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH).During the diagnosing process, swab samples should be taken from the throat secreations. The doctors and health workers are always scared to do this test. STOP Corona (Gadget for Safety to Operating Persons) is a safety gadget wherein the doctors/ health workers will stand inside a closed cabin and will be able to take the throat swab, without coming in direct contact with the patient. Taking sample will thus be completely safe. This will reduce the panic amongst the health fraternity. Another important thing is that there is no need to wear a PPE if you are working from this cabin. STOP Corona device has been developed by Dr Parikshit Mahajan and Dr Anantsingh Rajput of Aureus Institute of Medical Sciences. Rajya Sabha Member Dr Vikas Mahatme gave his personal donation to make this cabin. The gadget was dedicated to people and donated to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and will be put to use immediately. Medical Superintendent Dr Avinash Gawande accepted it on behalf of GMCH.
DR AVINASH Pophali, Director, Central India Institute of Haematology (CIIHO) Dhantoli has donated 50 Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kits and 50 N95 masks to GMCH and IGGMCH each for the health care workers treating Covid 19 patients.
