As per information the kharra accelerated the spreading of COVID-19 in many districts of Vidarbha.
In Nagpur, a kharra seller in Mominpura has found positive of coronavirus.Depite the ban, people are not in a mood to follow the rules as they crowded in front of the pan kiosk to buy the kharra.The addiction is so strong that they are not even obeying the lockdown rules.
The pan kiosk owner in Mominpura found positive as he used to provide home delivery service to the needy people. And the administration is in hot water finding the people who have purchased kharra from him. In Yavatmal district also the Kharra has played the major role in spreading the pandemic.

And after the investigation by the Preventive Social Medicine Department of Yavatmal Medical College, it came to fore that eight people who had come into contact with him recently were also positive.
The effect of kharra has also seen in the prices of betel nuts that actually cost 350 per kg are being sold at 600 per kg, tobacco packet that cost Rs.3 earlier is now being sold at Rs.30.The kharra itself which cost earlier Rs.20 to Rs 30 is being sold between Rs.60 to Rs.100.
