In a letter issued by the Directorate General of Health Services, an extension has been given to the final year Post-graduate (PG) students who were to write the final examination, conducted by respective medical universities including Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS).
The Services of these PG students may also be continued to be utilized with full pay stipend until fresh batches of PG students have joined physically, this is to ensure that there is no shortage of Residents in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
Also, the concerned medical institution is made to ensure the availability of accommodation for the present candidates.
The letter mentions, ‘It is with reference to the advisory of Medical Council of India (MCI) regarding the extension of the services of final year PG students scheduled to appear in Final University examination by two months or till the first year PGs of 2020 batch join the institute in view of the extraordinary situation due to outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
