The civic authority of the city has issued an advisory directing people to wait for test report in aftermath of every death case before cremation as the demise of youth from Parvati Nagar has increased threat of transmission of coronavirus.
The deceased youth found COVID-19 positive only after his death. In this situation, there is high possibility that those in his family might also be infected with the coronavirus. And civic chief Tukaram Mundhe has now asked not to immediately assemble at the person’s house who had died so as to be on safer side.
The youth was cremated as per COVID-19 protocol but previously in case of first death that of a person from Satranjipura the mistake proved costly for the city. The test report of the person came after his cremation and in between a large circle of his relatives and people in neighbourhood had assembled at his residence. Now the entire Satranjipura area is vacated as people were carried away for quarantine.
As per the rules, not more than five people can remain present at the cremation of a person who has succumbed to coronavirus. Social distancing too must be followed with sincerity as this is the only way to keep coronavirus infection.
