Smita Bansal (Ammi from Sony SAB’s Aladdin: NaamTohSunaHoga)
Mothers holds a very special place in everyone’s life and I feel given our hectic lifestyle, it’s good to have a day where the entire family comes together to celebrate the mothers. Both my daughters have their own ways of celebrating this day. My younger daughter likes to do something special from giving me a card and getting a cake for me. On the other hand, my elder daughter is more vocal and makes me feel special with her gestures. These little things are the true joy of life. Even Siddharth, my on-screen son is like my child. I truly care for him like a mother and looking after him on the sets comes naturally to me. I feel I understand him well because he is the same age as my daughter.
When I was growing up, I used to always say that I don’t want to turn into my mother but now that I am a mother myself, I now understand why she used to be strict about the food we eat and always encouraged me to build different skill sets. I couldn’t understand that before but now I do the same with my own kids. My mother is a disciplinarian and when I wanted to be an actress I didn’t expect that she would be so supportive. It is only because of that ‘yes’ from my mom that I am in this industry and I could pursue my passion.
The lockdown has brought my family so much closer and I urge everyone to live these precious moments and cherish this time together as a family. To all the working mother’s out there, I would like to say that do not feel guilty about not getting to spend enough time with your kids because of your work as long as you spend the ‘quality time’ with your kids. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers.
Krishna Bharadwaj (Pandit Rama Krishna from Sony SAB’s Tenali Rama)
Mothers are to be celebrated everyday but on this day they deserve something extra special. My mother has played a huge role in supporting me in my career since my theatre days. I even remember when I was struggling in my career she has even supported me by helping me financially.
One of the most heartwarming memories of my mother is when I was really young. I still remember, there was a leakage near the bedside and in order to ensure I sleep safe and sound, she never let me sleep on that side. That truly reflects the selfless love of a mother
Now that we are locked in our houses, I miss that I am not able to meet her and enjoy the delicious meal she cooks for me. Specially gattekisabzi, daalbatichurma, sattukeparatheand many more. I am eagerly looking forward to meeting her once the lockdown gets over and gift her a great piece of jewellery as she is really fond of them. This testing phase has also increased the workload of the mothers and I am so glad to see that kids these days are helping their mothers with household chores and they understand the effort their mothers put. To all my fans and viewers, try to make this day special for your mothers with even the smallest of gestures and celebrate your creator. Happy Mother’s Day to all.
SonaliNaik (Pushpa from Sony SAB’s Maddam Sir)
There is no greater love than a mother’s. Mothers are true reflection of selfless love and strength. Growing up I have seen my mother help us all through really difficult times by not letting her kids face any struggle. I was too young to understand that back then but I see the power of her true love and how she is like a shield of her children.
Thinking about such moments reminds me of the time that my daughter had written a letter for meafter seeing my cry, this is around 16 years ago. It said, ‘Mom, please don’t cry. You cry. I cry’, this makes me so emotional till date and at the same time I feel the sheer joy of being a mother. This phase where we all are at home, has given all of us the much needed time together.
This Mother’s Day, we would love to follow our daily fun routine of playing ludo or cards together as family and enjoy a lavish meal. I am really fortunate to be spending this quality time with my daughter and it has brought us a lot more close. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there.
AkshitaMudgal (Gayatrifrom Sony SAB’s Bhakharwadi)
Who can quantify the value of mothers? I think it’s next to impossible. My mother has supported me the most in every phase of my career. I remember when my mom used to wake up at 5 am to prepare food for me so that I don’t have to eat outside food on the set. Mothers keep working for their family without any expectations.
In today’s time when we all lead very busy lives, Mothers’ Day is a time when we can make that little effort to make our mothers feel special. Even though we value what they do for us, this one day can actually make them feel special even with a little ‘Thank You’ from us. I personally love celebrating Mothers’ Day for the simple joy of seeing my mother feel happy and special because I am what I am today just because of her support. She was there for all my auditions, for all the bad days and good days. She has fought for my journey more than me.
Lockdown is that one time when everyone has got the time to be with their family for the entire day. During this phase, I want to salute my mother, watching her work for the entire family day and night. People have stopped working and are at home but a mother’s work hasn’t stopped. Although me and my sister tell her not to work and instead rest, she tells us not to ask her to stop working. So, people should just make the most of this time and spend some quality time with their mothers and even when things get to normal, people should talk to their mothers after coming home from work and ask about how their day was. It is rightly said that ‘mothers are a form of God’ and I truly believe my mom is my God. I salute every mother in this world and a very Happy Mothers’ Day to all of them.
VanshSayani (Vivaan on Sony SAB’s Baalveer Returns)
Mothers’ Day is a very special day for me because it is that day when we can make our mothers feel more special than every day. I am where I am because of my mother. She takes care of everything including my shoots and my studies while making sure I don’t get stressed. I remember that moment when I got my first show, I was very excited and my mom was way more excited to see me on television. This was a special moment for me, seeing my mother happy because of my success.
This Mothers’ Day, I am going to surprise my mother by making a card for her. I was very poor at drawing but this lockdown has given me enough time to work on that and I am sure I will make a really good card for her this year. I have also been using this time to help my mother in every work from cooking to cleaning the house.
