Govt holds talk with cab companies, fiber sheet partition may be mandatory in cabs

At a time when taxi drivers are most vulnerable to contracting Covid-19 across the globe, the government is considering a novel idea to ensure the safety of drivers. As we all know by now that the primary reason of this pandemic spread is physical contact and this way, Taxi drivers won’t come into physical contact with passengers. They are requesting every tax driver to install the fiberglass sheet so as to prevent them from being a carrier of the disease.

The government is holding talks with cab companies in this matter. The most important change is that a fibre sheet will be installed between the driver and the passenger so that a regular distance between the two is maintained. As per the official source, the social distancing rule is necessary and it will continue after the lockdown. The government official said that they are holding talks with all the parties concerned regarding the rules in the public transport services such as buses, trains, metros and cabs. In cars, a fibre sheet between the driver and passenger will be mandatory. In Kerala, such an experiment has already started.
