VNIT Develops UV Sanitizer to Disinfect PPE Kits

It is really good news amidst all the woes of COVID-19 as the professors at VNIT developed the Ultra violet Sanitisers (UVS).Now it will be possible to disinfect PPE kits, masks, aprons, gloves. With the fast depletion of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the aftermath of the coronavirus outbreak, the medical professionals have got a shot in the arm in their fight against coronavirus outbreak. Now after the professors have developed two disinfection units the doctors can decontaminate the PPE kits and reuse them without degrading their performance.

As per information, the team of electronics and communication engineering department led by Prof Kishore Bhurchandi, Dr Prabhat Sharma and Dr.Deep Gupta technically designed the overall system while Sudhir Kumar Singh and Shravankumar tested the system in a laboratory. These two units were transferred to AIIMS on Tuesday to fight against the pandemic.Prof.Padole handed over the unit to AIIMS Director Dr.Vibha Dutta.
