The coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic is the defining global health crisis of our time and is one of the greatest challenges; we have faced since World War II. Coronavirus Pandemic has enforced acceptance for digital solutions in education and innovation in the Indian schooling system opening the seamless possibilities of involvement of technology in teaching and learning process. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted our lives making the School Academic Session 2020-2021 extraordinary. We all have been confined in the four walls of our house for our safety reasons. We have to accept the new normal and adapt to the Academic situation. The year 2020 is the beginning of a big transition into the education field.
COVID-19 has institutionalised a new level of collaboration and coordination amongst school, teachers and parents in educating the students. Parents are extending help in education, and teachers are taking the role of an extended family member. We will see a paradigm shift in the overall outlook of education.
As educationist and school leaders, we should be determined to fight back with the pandemic situation and keep our commitment towards teaching children with utmost sincerity. I believe in the saying of Albert Einstein “The measure of intelligence is the ability to change.” We have to put in genuine efforts to bring about a positive change by providing the quality of education during the pandemic situation. Being in the 21st century, effective technical solutions are available and we must use them for the benefit of our students. We are handling generation Z; which is very comfortable with all screen of life. We have to embrace the situation; and create the preparedness for teaching online.
At ‘The Achievers School’, we invested one month in just training teachers. We arranged technical support. Much hard work went behind the scenes. Teachers worked very hard to adapt to the online teaching platform. The Heads of both the centre Dr Priyadarshini Deoghare and Mrs Sharmila Muthye had been working tirelessly in educating the teachers.
We have already been conducting phase-wise online classes for Pre-Nursery to Class 10. During the lockdown, kids were engaged positively using online classes. Children were looking forward to more activities and were excited to see their teachers and friends online. The series of activities covered a wide range from fun activities, syllabus delivery effectively using Google Classroom with blended learning approach. We are 100% ready to start our session as like every in the month of June online or on-campus (based on the safety of our students). We are even extending one to one counselling support under the stressful circumstances of lockdown to students and parents.
At the end I would like to give a message to everyone that; Time will pass anyway; you can either spend it creating the life you want, or spend it living the life you do not want.
