The staff of Transit Treatment Centre, Seminary Hills, on Sunday rescued endangered Blue and Yellow Macaw; exotic species from Jaripatka.Earlier, Karishma Gilani and Pratik Chakravarty lodged a compalint with the centre and requested the team to rescue the bird.
Vijay Gangawane, Range Forest Officer, Seminary Hills, said that the bird must be pet of some family and it flew a tthe residence of Pratik. The bird does not come under the schedule category of Wildlife Protection Afct, 1972, as it is exotic. He ordered his sub-ordinate staff to take control of this bird. Forest Department will return this Blue and Yellow Macaw to the owner provided he or she proved ownership by submitting necessary documents. Till that period, the Veterinary Officer at Transit Treatment Centre willtakecare of the bird.
