Nagpur University Physical Education Teachers Association (NUPET) delegation met Maharashtra sports minister Sunil Kedar and apprised him about the condition of sportspersons and senior citizens.
The delegation said due to lockdown there is no training and physical activities of the players for the last two months. Therefore in the future, it will become difficult for them to participate in the tournament due to lack of fitness. Similarly, walking and jogging are essential for senior citizens. Therefore the playgrounds and sports stadiums in the city should be opened, demanded NUPETA.
On this Sunil, Kedar assured the delegation to talk with the concerned officials to fulfill their demand. The delegation also presented a memorandum to municipal commissioner Tukaram Mundhe. Additional commissioner Ram Joshi accepted it. Mayor Sandip Joshi, MLA Vikas Thakre were also given memorandum by NUPETA.
Vice-president of NUPETA Vijay Datarkar, general secretary Dr Arvind Joshi, secretary Dr Devendra Wankhede, treasurer Dr Sanjay Choudhary, Dr Surendra Tiwari, Dr Bablu Shrigiriwar and others were present on the occasion.
