As we know the nation is reeling under the wrath of deadly corona virus,many people are stranded in various cormners of the country and facing difficulties to meet their daily needs especially for food.In this serious situation,the Taj Group of Hotels has come forward to help those in needy.
As per information, they provided over 16.50 lakh nutritious meals designed by celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor to migrants and medical workers at hospitals in Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru, a top official said here on Monday.
The Indian Hotels Company Ltd (which runs the Taj Group), along with Taj Public Service Welfare Trust and the TajSats which is the airline caterer, have joined hands for this service in the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
In Mumbai, in collaboration with the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), over 10,000 meals daily are supplied to the medical fraternity at Kasturba Hospital, KEM Hospital, LTMG Sion Hospital, Nair Hospital and Sir J.J. Hospital, with a total of around 5.90 lakh meals delivered till now.
Similarly, meals have been delivered since March 30 to the medical staff at Delhi’s Lady Hardinge Medical College, and later seven other hospitals including the Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan Hospital, Rajiv Gandhi Superspeciality Hospital, G.B. Pant Hospital, Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital and Dr. Ambedkar Hospital, with over 1.91 lakhs meals delivered till date.
Over 17,000 meals have been served to medical staff in Bengaluru’s Victoria Hospital and Old Diseases Hospital in partnership with Hotel Taj West End.
