Parvati Nagar residents demand to ease containment restriction

Locals of came out on the roads in anguish against Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) order of putting the area under containment zone. The order was passed by Municipal Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe to keep the residents of Parvati Nagar under home quarantine and to prevent the spread of COVID- 19.

Earlier, this area had few positive cases after which the area was announce to be sealed by NMC official and Commissioner. The crowd which was protesting against the orders was led by local corporators.

The locals have demanded to ease the restrictions in their area as recently no positive cases were reported from the vicinity.

But according to government rules and what NMC officials have told TLN “ the area where positive patients have been found, it should be kept in a containment and isolated for a period of 28 days”
