With World Environment Day just around the corner, JCI Nagpur Medico is all set to emphasize the importance of the environment in our lives. A unique extravagant program has been planned to celebrate the 5 elements of nature viz. Earth, Water, Air, Sky, Fire. World Environment Day falls on 5th June however, Environment comprises of 5 TATVA or elements.
The pollution of these elements is causing an imbalance in the ecosystem and has become a global concern. So it is the need of the hour to understand the hazards of climate change not only on the human body but also the surrounding. Hence the concept of PANCHTATVA was born under Save environment campaign.
In accordance with the current lockdown, the program is going to be in the form of interesting and informative online webinars on Zoom platform t which would be Live from 1st to 5th June 2020 at 4 pm to 5 pm daily, Webinar ID is 950 1755 1042 and Password 9999. Simultaneously, the same day one unique contest reflecting involvement towards the environment will be declared.
The program is planned by JCI Nagpur Medico under the guidance of seniors from Zone IX, JCI India. JCI Senator Mahesh Rathi, Founder Chairman of Anti-Pollution Brigade, Zone IX, JC Valluri Srinivas, Zone President, Zone IX, JCI India, JC Santanu Mitra, Zone Director (Enviroment), JC Dr. Viral Shah, Project Coordinator had decided to conduct this program in all 3 states of Zone IX i.e Vidarbha, Chattisgarh and Orissa simultaneously. JCI Nagpur Medico Team panchatatva compromises of HGF Dr. Swati Sarda, President, JC Dr.Smita Pakhmode IPP ZD (PR) Zone IX,  Dr. Dipika Chandhok, Secretary, Dr. payal Agrawal, Treasurer, Project Directors – Dr. Pradnya Laddha, Dr. Apeksha Dhole, Dr. Anuradha Puniyani, Dr. Kavita Dangra, Dr. Pankaj Agrawal, Project Secretaries – Dr. Honey Gurbaxani, Shreyas Ohale, Dr. Priti Jaiswal, Sanjana Agrawal, Saurabh Loya, Anusha Dewase, Sagarika Limaye, Dr. Mohit Gunwal, Ankita Ramteke, Dr. Gaurav Janawar, Ayush Bhangadiya are working hard for the success of the event.
The 1st day would implicate the element Earth. The first talk would be on ‘Plastic pollution on land’ by Dr. A. Ramesh Kumar, Senior Scientist, CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur. The second lecture would be on the topic ‘Vriksha hai to hum hai’ by Smt. Geeta Nannawre, Divisional Forest Officer, Social forestry Nagpur. A contest on Photography on Green Nature has also been conducted on the same day.
The 2nd day comprises of a highly impactful session on the element ‘Water’. The session conducted on this day would be on ‘Water security through people participation’ by Mr. Prabhat Jain, Hydrogeologist, Regional Directior, CGWB Nagpur. Also, a contest on ‘How to save water’ would be conducted by receiving entries through 1minute video explaining the same.
The 3rd day would be action-packed with a session on the element ‘Air’. The topic on this day is ‘Air pollution and its effects on lungs and Corona care’ by Dr. Ashok Arbat, MD Chest Physician, Director KRIMS Hospital Nagpur. Also, a painting competition would be held on ‘Air pollution and prevention’.’
The 4th day would focus on the element ‘Sky or space’. The topic on this day would by ‘Radiation our constant companion’ by Mr. Manu Thandra, Officer Incharge Physics, AMD Nagpur. Also, a slogan competition would be held on this day on ‘Prevention of Radiation Hazards’.
The 5th day which would be the concluding one would be on the element ‘fire’. It would also sum up the entire event with focus on Biodiversity. Chief guest for this day is JCI SEN Mahesh Rathi, PZP, Zone IX, JCI India. A session on Biodiversity and Wildlife of Central India will be held by Mr. Prakash Thosre, Retd, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest. Also, a face painting competition on global warming is being held on this day.
