Chairman Vidarbha Chapter of Chamber of Small Industry Associations, (COSIA), Shri Mayank Shukla, while applauding the efforts of Ministry of MSME under the guidance of its vibrant leader, Shri Nitinji Gadkari, stated that to get the desired result of its redefining, and package offered to them, updating of its data has become very much essential.
MSME sector contributes around 28% of GDP in the Nations’s Economy and around 45% in total Export of the Nation. As per the data available there around 6.5 crores of Industries registered under MSME and are employing about 12 crores of the workforce. It means on average not even 2 workers are employed in one industrial unit. Besides these figures are constant since last so many years and gives the impression that there are multiple times of bogus Registration, just to take benefit of MSME act.
MSME act has come into existence in the year 2006, and since then number of Incentives and Benefits are offered to them to boost their growth, but it leaves a big question mark, how much it reaches to the actuals rather then being misused by the bogus Registration.
The information on ‘Investment towards Plant and Machinery’ is furnished ‘On Line’ and supported with self-declaration only. The verification is done only in case of a specific complaints Shri Shukla stated.
CA Julfesh Shah, Vice Chairman, COSIA said that MSME not only plays a very important role in Nation’s Economy but it also creates huge job opportunities and creates enormous revenue to carry out ambitious infrastructure projects and help financially weaker sections of the society. MSME Act also provides number of benefits, concessions and relaxations.
Now to accomplish the slogan of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, it needs to be further consolidated and strengthened. Hence updation of the data with proper checks and authentication is essential. With the new vision of our dynamic MSME minister and foresightedness of our beloved Prime Minister, we must ensure that the benefits and incentives offered to MSME sector reaches to real deserving ones and not drained out through leakages.
It’s very much essential to carry out a detailed survey of MSME sector, their Turn over, Workforce engaged and Capital Investment in Plant and Machinery.
The data bank so prepared needs to be updated and reviewed periodically and encourage them to move to a next category, i.e, from nano to micro, micro to small, small to medium and then to large. An individual industrial growth means Nation’s Growth and prosperity.
This is very much possible with present ruling Government, post COVID-19 period, Shri.Shukla concluded.
