Maharashtra Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Sunil Kedar has ordered to convert the conventional energy to solar energy at Divisional Sports Complex situated at Mankapur.As per information, the decision was taken on Friday during the executive committee meeting of Divisional Sports Complex at Divisional Commissionerate, Civil Lines.
The minister stated that solar energy is much cheaper than conventional energy and ordered the concerned department to install solar panels at the stadium through Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA). He asked Divisional Commissioner Dr Sanjiv Kumar to renew the lease of sports complex land. He also ordered to keep the premises clean. Kedar also proposed to appoint Homeguard personnel for the security of the complex.
Kedar also said that the department is yet to acquire land for Taluka Sports Complexes at Bhandara and Gadchiroli. He asked the officials to speed up the process of acquiring the land in theses two districts. Similarly, several proposals have been forwarded to the central government under Khelo India schemes. Kedar asked the officials to take follow up of the proposals.
