Nagpur is soon to be developed as a tourism hub under which several projects were proposed during a video conferencing by Dr Nitin Raut, Energy Minister of Maharashtra and Guardian Minister of district.
The proposed development project includes Energy Education Park at Koradi, a tall Hanuman Statue, selfie point, beautification of lake, world- class Buddhist Theme Park, business centre, and new stadium.
Ashok Mokha, noted architect, made a presentation in this regard at Urja Guest House here on Saturday. Dr Raut; Chandrashekhar Bawankule, former Energy Minister; Rajendra Mulak, former Minister of State for Energy; Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Divisional Commissioner; Ravindra Thakare, District Collector; Tukaram Mundhe, Municipal Commissioner; Vijay Shankar Sharma, Director of Raman Science Centre were present on the occasion. Dinesh Waghmare, Principal Secretary (Energy); Shaila A, Chairman and Managing Director of Mahagenco; Subhash Dumre, Director of Maha Urja; Suryakant Kulkarni of Nehru Science Centre; Ashok Jogade of Effort Planetarium; Ravi Bankar also joined in through video-conferencing from Mumbai.
Energy Education Park was proposed at Koradi in the State Budget by Ajit Pawar, Finance Minister, earlier this year. It will educate students about various aspects of energy, green energy, solar power system, various modes of power generation, biomass live models, solar charging stations etc.
A tall Hanuman Statue also will be erected to add to the tourist attraction. A world-class Buddhist Theme Park is proposed at Futala.
Other projects include new stadium in place of Yeshwant Stadium.Itwillhelpinincreasing gross domestic product as well as per capita income, Dr Raut said. Anant Deotare, Chief Engineer of Mahagenco; Sunil Gujjalwar, Chief Engineer of Nagpur Improvement Trust, RajivElkawar of Maha Metro; Anil Nagrare, Ramakant Meshram, and Anil Khaparde were present on the occasion.
