The Income Tax (I-T) department has again extended the Aadhaar-PAN linking date till March 31, 2021.
“Understanding & keeping in mind the times that we are in, we have extended deadlines. PAN – AADHAAR linking can be done till March 31, 2021. We do hope this helps you plan things better†the department tweeted.
The previous deadline for linking the two was June 30, 2020. People can link the two documents through the official e-filing website of the Income Tax (I-T). The Income Tax Department also provides an SMS-based facility to enable the linking of Aadhaar with PAN.
It is to be noted that the I-T returns can also be filed without linking the two, but the department does not process the returns until PAN and Aadhaar are linked.
For those who are having difficulty is linking the two documents can also visit the PAN services centers to complete the process.
