After the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the government has declared nationwide lockdown and it affected all the spheres of life especially in education sector.The educational institutions were closed in view of the safety across the nation .And after a long gap, 25 high schools (standards 9, 10 and 12) re-opened physically following instructions from Education Department, in corona free areas of Chandrapur district. As per information, there where not a single patient has been detected in the district. After over three months, the Government issued notification in June to reopen school depending upon the local conditions.
Accordingly, the Education Department issued the orders to re-open schools in the district. In all, 513 schools out of 616 re-opened after a long gap. However, parents did not send their wards to schools. After meeting between principals and parents, the school managements decided to shut institutions temporarily. However, around 25 high schools standard of 9, 10 and 12 re-opened in the district on Thursday. Around 25 high schools re-opened by following the lockdown norms including wearing masks, maintaining social distancing etc.As per official source, the schools management can run their schools only where there is no single patient of coronavirus. And, and the management can run their schools after consulting with parents by maintaining the norms issued by government. The textbooks will be distributed to the needy students to continue their education.Moreover; the online classes have already been started in the district.
