“Five National Institutions jointly organized National Webinar under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat”

Under the “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB)” initiative of Government of India, five National Institutes have jointly organized a National Webinar on “Role of Youth for Nation Building and National Integration”. Participating  Institutions are VNIT, Nagpur (Central India), NIT, Rourkela (Eastern India), IIITDM, Kurnool (South India), IIIT, Nagpur (Central India) and IGNOU (with All India Presence) represented by its Nagpur Regional Centre. It was held on 10th July 2020 through Google Meet and streaming on Youtube.  Total 858 participants registered from across the Country, like Srinagar, Siliguri, Bengaluru and many other places.

The Objectives of the Webinar were presented by Dr. P. M. Padole Director, VNIT, Nagpur. He stated that VNIT Campus is like “Mini India”. Dr. O. G. Kakade, Director, IIIT, Nagpur, Dr. M Shanmugham, Director, IGNOU, New Delhi, Dr. D V L N Somayajulu, Director, IIITDM, Kurnool, Dr. P. Sivaswaroop, Regional Director, IGNOU RC Nagpur, Prof. Animesh Biswas Director, NIT, Rourkela, Dr. Gopi Nimbarte, Coordinator (EBSB), VNIT, Nagpur, Dr. Mani Prakash, Coordinator (EBSB), IIITDM, Kurnool, Prof. P. M. Khilar, Coordinator (EBSB), NIT, Rourkela, Dr. Kirti Dorshetwar, Coordinator (EBSB), IIIT, Nagpur have spoken in this unique initiative. Dr.Omprakash Kakde said that language should not be a barrier, everyone especially youth should be eager to learn different Indian languages for the integration of nation.

Dr. M Shanmugham, Director, IGNOU New Delhi explained about the different initiatives by IGNOU for the benefit of students across India, especially for Rural Youth.  Various technologies are used by IGNOU and IGNOU is participating in different initiatives of the Government. Dr. D V L N Somayajulu told that how pandemic has affected different parts of the country, education and colleges and how we are coping with it.

Dr. P. Sivaswaroop highlighted on how to develop Resilience among youth.  In his power point presentation he compared Resilience with Immunity.  Dr. Sivaswaroop explained on ways to improve Resilience.  He focused on Confidence, Competence, Connections, Character, Contribute, Coping and Control, factors for Resilience. Prof. Animesh Biswas informed that they are conducting different cultural and technical activities in the Institute.  Dr.Vikrant Dhenge spoke about the donation and plantation of saplings, organ donation campaigns, visiting nearby villages and doing social work under “Ek bharat Shreshtha Bharat”. He told that Yoga activities should be conducted in colleges.

Prof. P. M. Khilar enlightened on uniting all NIT’s from across India and discussing all the activities performed.  He appreciated IGNOU for this Initiative. D V L N Somayajulu thrown light on activities performed by them under EBSB. Dr. Gopichand Nimbarte explained about the activities organized by them in their institution and emphasized need of such webinars. EBSB Coordinators from other Institutes also presented their ideas and activities.

The participants have acquired the knowledge and thoughts of the eminent speakers. The Programme was conducted and vote of thanks proposed by Dr Kirti Dorshetwar. Dr.Sasicoumar Brumot, Dr.Ashish Sasankar, Dr. (Mrs.) Prachi Sasankar, Mr. C.H. Rajgure & Mr. Rajesh Wasnik have contributed for the smooth conduction of the Webinar.
