The Maharashtra Government has approved the establishment of three new private Dairy Technology colleges under the umbrella of Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU), Nagpur, from the 2026-27 academic session.
The institutions have been granted permanent unaided status with temporary affiliation, in accordance with the provisions of the Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (Amendment) Act, 2023. The approvals were issued following recommendations from the university’s Academic Council and Executive Council.
Among the three approved institutions, one is located in the Vidarbha region — the Late Shaktikumar Sancheti College of Dairy Technology at Malkapur in Buldhana district, managed by the Late Madanlal Kisanlal Sancheti Seva Samiti. The remaining two colleges are situated in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Beed districts.
Each college has been allowed an intake of 40 students for the first year of the 2026-27 academic session. Half of the seats will be filled through the government quota, while the remaining 50 per cent will be allotted under the management quota. The colleges will operate on annual provisional affiliation despite being permanently unaided institutions. Admissions will be carried out by MAFSU in accordance with the admission procedures and policies prescribed by the State Government.
The institutions have been directed to comply with all academic standards and infrastructure norms laid down by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and MAFSU. Tuition fees and other charges will be regulated by the Maharashtra Fee Regulating Authority.
Authorities have also clarified that the colleges will not be permitted to admit students beyond the sanctioned intake capacity approved for each institution.
