The Highway Police, Nagpur, in coordination with the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Nagpur, has launched a 24×7 special Drunk and Driving enforcement drive on the Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg, beginning at 7:00 PM today.
The joint enforcement teams have been deployed at the Samruddhi Expressway entry point in Nagpur, where all motorists are being checked using advanced breath analyser devices. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone found driving under the influence of alcohol, in accordance with the Motor Vehicles Act and other applicable laws.
The special enforcement campaign has also commenced simultaneously at major entry points across the state, including Mumbai, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Sinnar, Shirdi, and other key access points on the Samruddhi Expressway.
The initiative aims to reduce road accidents, enhance highway safety, and create awareness about the dangers of drunk driving.
The Highway Police have appealed to all motorists not to drive after consuming alcohol and to strictly follow traffic rules to ensure the safety of themselves and fellow road users.
